Computer Money – Prophetic?

WASHINGTON, D.C.   The U.S. Senate is now looking at an issue of digital economy that sounds like it’s right out of our newly released novel, Thunder of Heaven. The Senators are concerned about an electronic form of currency called the Bitcoin, which is being used around the world by cyber enthusiasts. Other trends mentioned in our series as fiction are now popping up as fact: in Edge of Apocalypse, the first in our new futuristic fiction series (released last year) we introduced a handheld device (the “Allfone”) which can easily do video phoning with a push of a button. Just this week news breaks of Facebook and Skype joining forces to permit video phoning via the social networking site. In Edge  we portray a future White House pushing for the U.S. to drop the dollar and join a global currency. The idea of a world currency is growing and a few weeks ago at the Global Currency Expo financial experts were urging listeners to “get out of the dollar” because it has lost about 33% of its value vs. other currencies. In this newest twist, concerning the online, entirely digital ”currency” called the Bitcoin, lawmakers in Congress fear that this form of ”money” can be used to purchase illegal goods without being tracked. The interesting fact is that the Bitcoin, whose legality is still undecided, is an entirely peer-to-peer (P2P) exchange of value via computer, between individuals, without any bank, or national government, acting as an intermediary. Regardless of what happens in the Bitcoin debate, it is clear that electronic money is the wave of the future. If and when national governments get in the game, and then globally agree to a single digital form of world money via electronic transfers, you will begin to see how the prophetic signs are lining up. Right now we are working on the next book in our “End” series. And don’t be surprised if you read about these kind of events building to a fevered pitch! Meanwhile, those like patriot Col. Joshua Jordan, our fiction hero, and his brilliant lawyer wife Abigail, who oppose a rush to global unification and erosion of American sovereignty are getting into hotter and hotter water …
